PA changed its standard for involuntary mental health
WEBOct 24, 2019 · The new AOT law. Pennsylvania was the 47th state to adopt AOT standards with less strict criteria. According to the memo of the Pennsylvania bill, sponsored by state Rep. Thomas Murt, R-Montgomery, its goal was to allow for less restrictive treatment settings and the chance to intervene sooner “before someone becomes dangerous and tragedy strikes.”

PA’s controversial mental health law is finally getting a test run
WEBJul 5, 2022 · PA’s controversial mental health law on involuntary treatment stands to get a test run more than 3 years after its passing. The law governs assisted outpatient treatment, or AOT, a court-ordered treatment plan. Standards to qualify for AOT are lower than those needed for an involuntary 302 hospitalization. 2020 Census: Pittsburgh Black population falls as other groups rise
WEBAug 13, 2021 · Race. Pittsburgh’s two largest racial groups declined faster than the city overall during the 2010s. The city’s Black population dropped by 13.4% (about 10,500 people) while the white population fell by 5.6% to 187,099. Meanwhile, the census showed that the city saw a boom in its Asian, Hispanic and multi-racial populations.

Tower implosion in Allegheny's Cheswick, Springdale end coal era
