A 27-year-old man living in Oklahoma was arrested for conspiring to conduct a terrorist attack in the U.S. on Election Day, according to the Department of Justice.

Tawhedi, 27, is now accused of conspiring to conduct a terrorist attack in the United States on Election Day on behalf of ISIS. The Afghan national, who has been in the United States since 2021, was living with his wife and 1-year-old daughter at an apartment in south Oklahoma City.

The FBI has arrested an Afghan man who officials say was inspired by the Islamic State militant organization and was plotting an Election Day attack in the US.
