A wildfire that's burning in the southern part of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in western Colorado has grown to more than 1,600 acres. It has damaged some park equipment and several outbuildings.
The Wright Draw Fire, near Gateway, Colorado, burned an estimated 34 acres Friday afternoon, according to the Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit. Aerial crews continue to monitor the fire as plans to suppress it are underway.

The area is in "go" status, meaning all residents and visitors should leave immediately. Residents of Jacob Lake in northern Coconino County were evacuated on July 10, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon was closed to visitors.
