Stellantis NV keeps slashing vehicle production in Italy, a key market for the automaker’s besieged executive team.

Metal workers at Stellantis will go on strike on October 18 in protest of falling production across the country. The strike comes on the back of a slow first half for the car conglomerate.

Automaker Stellantis' output in Italy is set to drop below 500,000 vehicles this year from 751,000 in 2023, the FIM-CISL union said on Wednesday, citing persistently soft market demand, especially for electric vehicles.

On Wednesday, Stellantis (STLA) reported another quarter of plunging sales as the company behind brands such as Jeep and Chrysler attempts to fix its so-called “disaster.”
