After suffering through the worst season in franchise history, Pistons owner Tom Gores is optimistic about the direction of his franchise.

During halftime of Tuesday's Pistons-Suns game at the Breslin Center, Tom Gores shared his thoughts on the current state of the franchise.

Gores, who also owns the Los Angeles-base Platinum Equity firm, is dipping his toe into the NFL with a deal which must still get the approval of the other owners.

Tom Gores has had limited success since acquiring the Detroit Pistons in 2011. Entering his 14th year as owner, the Pistons hold a 370-654 record with only two playoff appearances.
