The Giants' 34-24 loss against the 49ers on Sunday wasn’t particularly unique for a team that now stands at 2-7. But one thing did stand out at MetLife Stadium: The almost fully packed crowd comprised about 40% San Francisco fans.
The former NFL Offensive Player of the Year accounted for 173 yards of total offense (106 rushing, 67 receiving) and two total touchdowns to carry the 49ers to their NFC West-leading sixth win of the season and make a bit of NFL history in the process.
Since the injury avalanche hit the 49ers have managed to keep their heads above water and not suffer any bad losses. After losing in Week 8 to the Houston Texans on the road, the spotlight gets a little brighter for a group that has been pushed into bigger roles with a handful of injuries for San Francisco on both sides of the ball.
