The sentencing of Karmelo Anthony has been called a “disgusting” example of an unfair justice system in north Texas.

A Collin County judge has imposed strict rules on media access, security, and courtroom conduct in advance of the trial of Karmelo Anthony, the teen accused of fatally stabbing fellow student Austin Metcalf during a Frisco ISD track meet in April 2025.

The trial of Anthony, accused of killing Austin Metcalf, is expected to last two weeks. He faces up to life in prison if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty.
