Tropical Storm Melissa is expected to bring days of heavy rain to the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica and may trigger life-threatening flash flooding, the National Hurricane Center says.
The National Hurricane Center is tracking a tropical wave in the central Atlantic which is moving quickly toward the Caribbean. There also is a non-tropical system over the northwestern Atlantic — well away from Florida — that may develop into a tropical or subtropical storm over the next several days, according to AccuWeather.
Will it rain today? Atlantic hurricane season is June 1 to Nov. 30, 2025, with most tropical storm activity between August and October in Florida.
Hurricane Humberto, which formed northeast of the Caribbean on Thursday evening, remains an intense Category 4 major storm. Humberto’s center is expected to track well west, and then north, of Bermuda on Tuesday and Wednesday. It is expected to bring dangerous surf to Bermuda and most of the U.S. coast this week.
