Haiti’s government says it has dismissed two state officials following a stampede at a mountaintop fortress that killed 25 people over the weekend.
The incident took place at the Citadelle Henri, also known as Citadelle Laferriere, a 19th-century fortress and tourist spot in the northern town of Milot.
The fortress was packed before the annual celebration at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, authorities say.
