Mini is giving its Cooper a facelift for 2025, and this week the automaker is debuting the Cooper convertible variant. The brand has just unveiled this variant, which remains a rarity on the market, considering the number of convertibles that have been sacrificed over the last 10 or 15 years.

Convertible sales are dropping, but Mini remains committed to the segment. Though the brand was a little late to the party, debuting the first factory-developed Mini convertible in 1992—about 30 years after the aftermarket first lopped the top off a Mini—the modern version of Mini has consistently had a drop-top in the lineup.

MINI rounded out its Cooper lineup in October introducing the latest four-seat convertible. The Cooper and Cooper S Convertible provide the same fun-to-drive character as the hardtop but with a roof that opens automatically in just 18 seconds.
