How Christian McCaffrey made NFL history in two-score performance vs. Giants
In San Francisco's Week 9 win over the New York Giants, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey made NFL history with a two-touchdown performance.
Cam Skattebo watched on as Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants dropped a third-straight game, falling to 2-7 on the 2025 NFL season after a 34-24 loss to Mac Jones and the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9. Now, the Giants will look to end the drought in Week 10, hitting the road to face Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.
The 2025 NFL trade deadline is just a day away. With the New York Giants having fallen to 2-7 there is still chatter about the Giants adding a wide receiver to try and help rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. More interesting, though, might be whether or not the Giants subtract anyone from their roster before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart directed the New York Giants to a touchdown on their opening drive, just as he had done in three of his first five NFL starts. However, that's where the San Francisco 49ers turned the tables and marched their way to a 34-24 victory at MetLife Stadium, dealing Dart his first home loss in three tries as a starter.
On a more positive note, there are some previously injured players who are set to make their return in Week 9. After being sidelined since Week 2, Minnesota will bring back quarterback J.J. McCarthy, while the Los Angeles Rams will welcome back star wideout Puka Nacua.
