LAS VEGAS -- The rookie class for the Philadelphia 76ers consists of No. 3 overall pick VJ Edgecombe, second-rounder Johni Broome--who get the most attention--and undrafted guard Hunter Sallis.

LAS VEGAS — The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 96-94 in the NBA 2K26 Summer League at Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday.

He's expected to be part of what should be a talented backcourt, with Tyrese Maxey, Jared McCain and Quentin Grimes—assuming he eventually re-signs with the team—also expected to have major roles in the 2025-26 campaign. Veterans Kyle Lowry and Eric Gordon could see minutes as well.

The Philadelphia 76ers share an exciting injury update on VJ Edgecombe ahead of the team's Summer League game.

No. 3 pick V.J. Edgecombe and No. 2 pick Dylan Harper expected to face off at Thomas & Mack Center at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.

After a strong Summer League debut in Salt Lake City, VJ Edgecombe has been sidelined since the action shifted to Las Vegas due to a thumb injury. However, the Philadelphia 76ers have "optimism" that the rookie could return if his current progress continues,

Edgecombe faced the No. 5 pick of the Utah Jazz, Ace Bailey. He outperformed the 6-foot-10 forward and had 28 points on 13-of-27 shooting. The 76ers' rookie added 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal in his debut.
