So this is weird. When my daisy-chained firewire Western Digital hard drives are attached to my iMac, the iMac pretty much won't boot. Or it will freeze at the grey screen for 10 to 20 minutes.
I have a 2007-era iMac in which I recently (~1 month ago) replaced the hard drive. It's been running just fine since. Today, I needed to reboot it in order to run Lion off an external firewire drive.
