Payments from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program ( SNAP) will not be distributed until the government has reopened, President Donald Trump said in a post on Truth Social Tuesday. " SNAP BENEFITS ...will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government, which they can easily do, and not before!" Trump said in the post.
Some 42 million recipients of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will have to wait for them to be restored after losing them on Saturday.
Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo’s special session proclamation would need to include language allowing the Legislature to take such action.
An estimated 33,000 people use the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in the Brazos Valley, and there are still more people who qualify for the program.
