Extreme winter weather will blanket the eastern half of the U.S. this weekend with a combination of bitterly cold temperatures, gusty wind and — for some — heavy snow. For the tri-state, cold weather advisories are in place through at least Saturday morning.

Any moisture/snow left on the roads will freeze tonight as temperatures plummet into the single digits. Dangerously cold weather will continue through the weekend.

Temperatures are in the 30s and upper 20s. The Treasure Coast and Okeechobee County could feel as cold as the teens.
