A Powerball ticket worth $100,000 was sold for Monday’s lottery drawing at a convenience store in Ocean County. The lucky Powerball ticket was bought at Wawa on County Line Road in Jackson, lottery officials said. It matched four numbers, but not the Powerball, and was purchased with the Power Play option for an extra $1.
A Powerball player just missed a $250 million jackpot — but is still set to get richer in North Carolina. The player bought a ticket that matched all but one number picked in the July 14 drawing, making it worth $50,000, according to the N.C. Education Lottery website.
According to a press release from Powerball, Paul Corcoran of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, won $2 million in the July 9 Powerball drawing. He did so with a pair of tickets, both of which were worth $1 million after he matched five numbers. Corcoran did not intend to purchase both tickets, though.
