Jannik Sinner overwhelmed a not-fully-fit Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon semifinals to set up a rematch with Carlos Alcaraz of their epic French Open final four weeks ago.
Tuesday at Wimbledon will feature a quarterfinal between No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner and No. 10 seed Ben Shelton in the first men's singles match of the day.
Dimitrov most recently retired from the first round of the French Open with a thigh injury while holding a 6-2, 6-3, 2-6 lead over American Ethan Quinn. He retired from Wimbledon in the fourth round in 2024 with an abductor tear. He trailed Daniil Medvedev, 5-3, in the first set at the time of that injury.
The top-seeded Italian, dealing with an apparent arm injury, had dropped the first two sets to Grigor Dimitrov before the Bulgarian was forced to retire because of injury.
