GREEN BAY − The Green Bay Packers put defensive end Brenton Cox Jr. on injured reserve prior to their game against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 11. Cox injured his groin during the Packers ’ Sept. 7 season opener against the Detroit Lions and did not return to the game.

Josh Jacobs powered in from two yards out to make it 13-0. Commanders defensive lineman Deatrich Wise Jr. got carted off after trying to block the extra point (which was successful), adding to Washington's woes. He was later ruled out with a quad injury.

Jayden Reed, one of the top weapons in the Packers passing offense, suffered an injury, but the coaches are still optimistic they have other options.
