A lightning-sparked brush fire burned across five acres between Chatfield State Park and Daniels Park in Douglas County on Tuesday before firefighters contained the blaze.

Fire crews responded to a wildfire burning near Sterling Ranch in Douglas County on Tuesday afternoon. Regardless of development, heavy rainfall is expected over portions of Florida, which could bring localized flash flooding through mid-week. "They definitely improved the panels."

Crews from South Metro, West Metro Fire Rescue, West Douglas Fire, and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office have responded to the fire. South Metro said the fire is burning to the southwest at a moderate rate. The fuels that it's burning in are heavy timber, along with brush and scrub oak, fire officials said.
