Elmo’s social media account on X was compromised by hackers Sunday. The bad actors posted antisemitic comments and demanded the release of the Epstein files. As of Monday morning, Sesame Workshop had regained control of the account.

After the beloved character’s X account was hacked, Jon Stewart decided to have some fun with a look-alike puppet of Elmo on the “The Daily Show ” on Monday.

The tirade was a jarring departure from Elmo’s usual upbeat, motivational posts and wholesome pictures with other “Sesame Street” characters or celebrities.
