The massive tax and budget bill President Trump signed into law this month could prove a major challenge for Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections — but probably not in the places that will be hurt the most by it.

Debate is set to begin in the House at 9 a.m. local time on July 2, after senators narrowly passed the sweeping tax bill on July 1 with a 51-50 vote.
