The set of executive orders promoting the US AI industry were announced shortly after Trump’s AI Action Plan was revealed on Wednesday.

Tech companies selling AI to the federal government now face a new challenge: proving their chatbots aren't "woke."

Trump’s AI-export order directs the Commerce Department to establish a program to support the development and deployment of “full-stack, end-to-end packages” overseas, including “hardware, data systems, AI models, cybersecurity measures” that have applications for the healthcare, education, agriculture, and transportation sectors.

A number of the executive orders and announcements coming from the White House since Donald Trump returned to office have painted an ambitious vision for America’s AI future—crushing competition with China, abolishing “woke” AI models that suppress conservative speech, jump-starting power-hungry AI data centers. But the details have been sparse.

On July 23, 2025, the Trump Administration published an AI Action Plan and three Executive Orders on AI. The AI Action Plan sets forth a series of policy goals for execution by the federal government with respect to AI.

Trump headlined an event hosted by the “All-In” podcast and the Hill & Valley Forum on Wednesday, and spoke about the plan and signed executive orders regarding “woke AI,” data centers, and AI exports. The orders will likely expand on the plan, its limits, and its goals.
