Thunderstorms were rolling through parts of the Denver metro area on Wednesday, and as a result a severe thunderstorm watch was in effect for portions of Colorado's Front Range.

A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 8:19 p.m. EDT for strong thunderstorms until 8:45 p.m. EDT for Kent, Ionia, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties.

Detroit's high temperature could reach 86 degrees on Wednesday. The mercury should reach 85 on Thursday, the NWS predicts. The city's average monthly high temperature for July is 83.7. Early Wednesday, the service issued a hazardous weather outlook for southeast Michigan, warning that heavy rainfall is the primary hazard.

The NWS Raleigh NC issued a weather alert at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday for strong thunderstorms until 4:30 p.m. The alert is for Moore, Scotland and Hoke counties.

Severe thunderstorms are forecast Wednesday afternoon across Colorado’s Eastern Plains and I-25 corridor, including Denver, according to the National Weather Service.
