Here’s a cool video of ‘Voyager’ out on sea trials during ‘Storm Ashley’. We managed to capture some beautiful imagery of the storm at sea, including some lovely down wind surfing of Voyager on the face of some fairly big waves. Capturing the footage by drone sure wasn’t easy, as we had winds gusting to Force 11 (62kts) at times. We we’re out on sea trials with the two newly launched Interceptor 48 pilot boats when the Port of Cork pilot boat ‘Failte’ passed by to undertake a pilot transfer from an outbound ship. It was a nice opportunity to capture some cool video of the action as the boats ran alongside before the ship turned to create a lee for the pilot to disembark. We undertook a survey of the Ghost ship ‘MV Alta’ which ran aground off Ballycotton a year ago, after being abandoned off Bermuda in 2018 and drifting across the Atlantic Ocean.
