Attention Hurstbridge Line commuters! Did you know we’re building a new road connection to North East Link over the train line? To build this connection, we need to extend the rail tunnel near Watsonia Station. As part of the M80 Ring Road Completion, the Hurstbridge Line will soon be the home of the second-longest tunnel on our train network, at nearly half a kilometre long. Metro has custom-built a new safety system that allows the power to be turned off remotely to ensure emergency services can get quick access to the tunnel.
