This Day in History: A Bible from The Gideons was first placed in a hotel room by a Gideon named Archie Bailey. He was a railroad accountant and regular guest at the Superior Hotel in Montana, and he asked the manager for permission to place Bibles in rooms. Mr. Bailey ordered 25 copies of God’s Word from the International Headquarters. The date was November 9, 1908. Today, we celebrate many lives changed by the hope God’s Word found in a hotel room. #thegideons | The Gideons International
